In our current economy a huge amount of materials are taken from the Earth to make products, that eventually will be thrown away – the process is linear. In a circular economy, we can stop waste in the first place. At F&L there are several things we can do pre & post production to extend and prevent our pieces going to landfil such as the fabrics we use, aftercare, repair, rental options & reuse.
Material Care
Extending the average lifespan of your garments (2.2 years) by just three months of use per item can reduce carbon, water, and waste footprints by 5–10%, according to Wrap.
Stains are a common issue for clothes being disposed of. We reccomend using Clothes Doctor. They provide plastic free options for stain removed and specialised products for different fabrics.
For cleaning we reccomend using the Ecoegg Laundry Egg. A great fabric softner and detergent as an alternative to plastic bottles. Save Around 40 Plastic Bottles Each Year!

If you are no longer want to use your F&L piece, please consider another method before sending it to landfil. Sell it on to someone you know will love it, you can use platforms like Owni / DEPOP / Vinted.
Rent it out using platforms like Hurr / Save My Wardrobe. Or why not gift your piece to a local clothes collection drive or charity shop.
